Journey

Treacky Bee, born Mutono Bashiri in Muterere, Bugiri District, Uganda, is a self-made powerhouse in Afrobeat and Dancehall. Son of Mr. Isimeil Mutono Kadogo, he famously ruffled family feathers by choosing music over tradition, proving that passion often sparks rebellion. Now based in Bwaise, Kampala, Treacky Bee writes, produces, and performs with unflinching versatility, fusing local languages and African rhythms with contemporary dancehall energy. Hits like “Nakoowa,” “Ntoba,” “Gusukunda,” and the Sweedman-assisted “Yegwe Munange” showcase his ability to make tradition feel fresh. Behind the scenes, he’s also the brains behind tracks like Mr. Lense’s “Ekikompola,” cementing his reputation as both a creator and innovator.
